Measles
The New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH) Communicable Disease Service would like to make you aware of a new confirmed measles case identified in a non-New Jersey (NJ) resident who visited NJ while infectious. Anyone who visited the following location, only during the date and times listed, may have been exposed to measles:
- Exposure location: Newark Liberty International Airport, Terminal B
- Date, & Time: October 19, 2025, between 2:15 PM and 5:30 PM
The NJDOH is working in collaboration with local health officials to identify and notify people who might have been exposed during the time the individual was infectious. Known exposure locations will be updated in the measles exposure table on the NJDOH measles website as they become available. Exposed individuals, if infected, could develop symptoms as late as November 9, 2025.
The New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH) Communicable Disease Service would like to make you aware of a new confirmed measles case identified in Ocean County, New Jersey (NJ) resident. The individual developed rash on October 25 and was subsequently confirmed to have measles via positive measles PCR results.
The NJDOH is working in collaboration with local health officials to identify and notify all individuals who might have been exposed during the time the individual was infectious. Known exposure locations will be updated in the measles exposure table on the NJDOH measles website. Exposed individuals, if infected, could develop symptoms as late as November 19, 2025.
Ridgewood Police Department
The Ridgewood Police Department urges residents to stay alert following the recent coyote attacks in Bergen County.
- Stay alert: Supervise children and pets outdoors, especially near wooded areas or after dark.
- Secure your property: Keep garbage, compost, and pet food indoors or tightly sealed.
- Remove attractants: Clear brush and fallen fruit that may draw wildlife.
- Leash pets: Keep dogs on a short leash; don’t leave them unattended outside.
- If you see a coyote: Call the Ridgewood Police Department. Do not approach or feed it. Make loud noises, wave your arms, or throw objects to scare it away.
- If you or your pet are bitten or scratched: Seek medical care immediately.
